Cauliflower With Anchovies

Servings 4


  • 1 medium cauliflower divided into florets
  • 5 anchovies in oil
  • 5 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • 20 g butter
  • 3 sage leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste


  • Place chopped cauliflower in a pot, cover with water and season with salt. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes. Drain well.
  • Melt the butter in a skillet and add extra virgin olive oil and sage.
  • Cook for 3 minutes over medium-low heat.
  • Add anchovies and cook until they have melted.
  • Stir in cauliflower florets and breadcrumbs and cook over high heat for 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Serve and enjoy.


Additional tips

  • The combination of extra virgin olive oil, breadcrumbs and anchovies is a delicious combination you can use for many different vegetables and prepare salads, side dishes or pasta.
  • Melt anchovies over low heat and stir continuously.
  • If you like savoury flavour, add more anchovies.
  • For a super crunchy texture, toast chopped nuts with breadcrumbs in a non-stick pan over medium heat, without adding oil or butter.
